the 180's and the München

After a whole weekend (and then some) in München, I'm a real city girl. I can ride the U-bahn and S-bahn all by my self, and also walk all the way from Münchener Freiheit to Marienplatz (like we did on Monday).

I started the weekend together with Daniel, sharing a Baden-Württemberg ticket and a Bayern ticket. He was going to Augsburg, to ride his bike from there to Italy (hope he's still alive!!) Saturday was really baking hot, and me and Candyse tried to stay in the shade as much as possible, drinking iced coffee from Starbucks all day long. The day was all about shopping. First all day in Marienplatz (1 hour in H&M...) and when we were tired enough we went home to clean up and then back into town to have dinner. We went to a burger place that was supposed to be really amazing, but since we weren't on the list, we had to get our dinner some place else. We ended up in an irish/australian bar, and got our amazing burgers there instead.

Sunday we went to Münchener Freiheit, which is a really nice and fancy part of München. Lots of small cute shops and cafés everywhere. We walked a lot, and when we finally reached city we met up with Sam and Adolfo and some friends of theirs (three very nice american young gentlemen they'd met at their hostel) at the Hofbräuhaus. A classic when you are in München. It was like Frühlingsfest all over again (pretty scary, thinking of all the drama we've gone through thanks to that night...), but we gave up pretty early and went home to go to sleep.

Monday was museumday (neue Pinakotheke) & some sightseeing. Again lots of walking, but the museum was really nice. And really big, didn't think we'd ever make it out of there. But we did. We went back to Münchener Freiheit to have some coffee and then we went to the movies. A really funny german movie (Shoppen) about dating in München.

Yesterday everything was back to normal (d.h. not Feiertag anymore) so Candyse had to work. I had to spend the day alone, problem was it was pouring down all day. First thing I did was running to the closest shop to buy an umbrella. Then I went to Lenbachhaus, which is a really nice art museum. Spent over two hours there, and then strolled around town. Due to the rain this was not as nice as it could be, but it was ok. At night I went to Candyses work and they had movie night there. We watched the two first Pirates of the Caribbean-movies. Just a bit more pirates and ships than a girl can take in one evening, but finally the movies were over and we got to go home.

This morning I got a Mitfahrgelegenheit to go back to Reutlingen. This was my first mitfahr, but all went well, and it turned out to be a girl and a guy who study at the FH, and two girls who study in Tübingen. I fell asleep before we left München, and woke up about 50kms from Reutlingen.

180's reunion!

Have a whole week off from school, so I decided to go to München and visit Candyse. Will stay until tuesday or so. The 180's will be back together, like no summer semester ever happened! Of course we miss Marie, but you can't get everything. I'm planning on seeing her later this summer after leaving this place they call Reutlingen.

Me and Candyse in the good ol' days. Actually in München

2. Stock party and then Bodensee

Last friday we had our Stockwerksparty. We had a 60's 70's theme, and rented the Wurmbar. Lots of people came, and since the theme is pretty open, people looked very... different. We had lots of fun, and also made some money for the Stock.

The following saturday we went on a adventure trip to Bodensee. We left at 8 o'clock in the morning, and after the big party the night before, we all were pretty tired. First stop were in the Abenteuer Steinbruch. Here we got to ride a zip rope. It's like a linbana, and you ride hanging only from a harnest. I was really afraid before trying it the first time, but it was sooooooo much fun!! Then we got to ride a mechanical bull, wich is also lots of fun to watch, but I was not really that impressed with the ride.

Back on the bus, and we went to Meersburg. A very pretty little town just by Bodensee. Here we walked through town, and then we had a wine tasting. I didn't know anything about wine before, and this was only local wines, so it was very interesting (and good). We had really good dinner at a nice restaurant, and then we took the boat to Konstanz. Here we met up with Daniel, who spent all weekend to ride his bike around Bodensee (han är gaaalen!). We had time for a quick drink, and then we headed back to Reutlingen.

The day was perfect, and me and Andrea ended up in 4. Stock Litthaus to watch Eurovision Song Contest with the other Swedes. (We all know that fel låt vann!) :D

Weekend with dad and then Valborg...

Last weekend my dad visited. We didn't really do much, but it was mostly about seeing eachother. He arrived in Reutlingen friday night. We checked him into the hotel and then had dinner. Saturday morning we went into Stuttgart to do some shopping (that's where I met my soulmate), we had lunch and then we went to Bad Cannstadt. First we spent 2 good hours in the Mercedes Museum. I've been there before, but for anyone who loves cars you can't visit this place enough! After this we were off to Frühlingsfest.

Frühlingsfest is mostly about drinking lots and lots of beer. It's served in 1l glasses, and you have to drink it fast or it goes flat and warm. So that's what we did. A lot. Ending up with lots of drunk people (of course), a good share of drama and one pair of broken sandals.

Monday was last of April, in sweden known as Valborg. A day of lighting fires to scare off evil spirits of winter. And of getting drunk (like all other swedish traditions...) We got all the swedes of Reutlingen together to celebrate. Some other people joined, and I suspect that we might have managed to scare them off instead... We had a barbecue and listened to swedish music all night. This might be the first and only time I've had Björn Rosenström playing on my computer! It was a really good Valborg, and we even cheered for the swedish king who had his birthday.
